Coronavirus has affected everyone’s daily life. The National Public Health Organization (EODY) recommends washing our hands frequently with liquid soap and water and avoiding touching our face.
Devices that we use daily and that are in our hands for many hours a day include our mobile phone, computer, and tablet. For this reason, we need to keep them clean.
Phones, computers, and tablets, which are integral parts of people’s lives, carry germs. Specifically, according to German researchers, the coronavirus can survive on surfaces such as metal, glass, or plastic materials from which phones, tablets, and computers are made for up to 9 days.
The following tips will help you protect yourself by cleaning the devices you use daily:
Clean your smartphone
- Take alcohol wipes and clean your phone, paying special attention to the ports and buttons.
- If you use phone cases, it’s also important to keep them clean daily:
- For cleaning the cases, you can use regular household cleaners.
- The case should be removed from the device.
- Ensure that the case is dry before putting it back on your device.
Clean the keyboards
- Start by turning off the computer and disconnecting all connections.
- In the case of a laptop, turn it off and disconnect the charging cable. If possible, remove the battery. Use any cleaner to clean the surface of the keyboard keys and the exterior of the computer.
Clean the mouse or touchpad
- The mouse must also be cleaned thoroughly. Start by disconnecting and removing the batteries. Using disinfectant wipes, clean the mouse. The same applies to touchpads. Ensure that the wipes are not too wet. Dry the device properly.
Clean the screen.
- Attention! Never spray cleaning products directly onto the screen. Instead, apply a small amount of sanitizer to a cloth or paper towel and then carefully clean the screen. Experts recommend using wipes that contain alcohol for cleaning.
